Original Post at 9:17 am: Sacramento, CA - Ahead of President Donald Trump's first visit to California since his election, Governor Jerry Brown is inviting him to visit communities like Madera and Fresno.

That could have disastrous consequences for California's high-speed rail project, which is already four years behind schedule as costs for the massive infrastructure project continue to balloon. We invite you to come aboard and truly "Make America Great Again".

In the letter, Brown invited Trump to the Central Valley to tour a dozen bridges and viaducts being built for the nation's first and only high-speed rail line. California has otherwise clashed viciously with the federal government, particularly on immigration issues.

The first will be held at 11 a.m.at Chicano Park to prepare for and condemn Trump's visit, which will reportedly include a stop in Otay Mesa to view the 30-foot-tall border barrier prototypes, one of which Trump hopes will be used as a model to wall off the U.S. -Mexico border. And, it comes amid escalating vitriol aimed at California from the Trump administration, which last week filed a lawsuit in federal district court claiming the state's sanctuary protections preempted federal immigration law.

US President Donald Trump will visit the site of eight US-Mexico border wall prototypes in his inaugural visit to California.

"You see, in California we are focusing on bridges, not walls", Brown writes in a letter to Trump that Brown's office released on Monday morning (Tuesday NZ Time).

"For decades, California has been the place where the future happens first", Bush said.

"I mean, frankly, if I wanted to pull our people from California, you would have a crying mess like you've never seen in California", Trump said weeks ago, warning there would be "crime like nobody has ever seen crime in this country". "And that's more than just a figure of speech", Brown wrote.

"California thrives because we welcome immigrants and innovators from across the globe", Brown says in the letter, in which he also says that "our prosperity is not built on isolation".
