Cave In Old Man Gloom Bassist Caleb Scofield Killed in Car Crash
The musician had been driving in his truck in New Hampshire on Wednesday when it is thought that he attempted to change lanes on the approach to a toll booth. Scofield perished after his truck crashed into a concrete barrier and burst into flames outside a New Hampshire toll plaza shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, reports the New Hampshire Union Leader. Authorities are investigating the cause.
Scofield joined Cave In in 1998, and his first recording with the band was 1999′s Until Your Heart Stops.
He was famous for his involvement in bands Cave In and Old Man Gloom over the course of his twenty-year music career.

Caleb Scofield, bassist with the wonderful Cave In, as well as Old Man Gloom, passed away yesterday on the 28th of March 2018 following a truck collision. Support of friends and family will help with the funeral expenses. "In addition to being an incredible dad and partner Caleb was an accomplished carpenter and musician with a career spanning two decades". "He was a great father, a loving husband and his loss will be most deeply felt by his family".
"I'm not ready to talk about this yet, but I just wanted to say that Caleb will always be in my heart", Isis drummer Aaron Harris, 40, said on Instagram. "We will have countless words to say, and endless stories to tell in the future, but today we are just trying to keep it together", Old Man Gloom wrote on Facebook.
"Saddened by the sudden death of Caleb Scofield".
