"I mean India is so big, one state could be as big as Britain". I don't remember a national project but I know regionally.

"Cambridge Analytica whistle-blower Christopher Wylie has accepted before British Parliamentary committee that Cambridge Analytica worked for the Congress Party. This vindicates what we have been saying from day one".

"When you look at Facebook's biggest market, India is the top in terms of numbers of users".

Deposing before the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee of the UK Parliament, Wylie said: "I believe their [CA's] client was Congress, but I know that they've done all kinds of projects both regionally... You have no right to remain law minister of this country", he said.

"A full investigation must be conducted, and if Cambridge Analytica and its staff did in fact repeatedly violate our laws, then there must be punishment levied sufficient to deter similar lawbreaking in future", he continued.

Paul-Olivier Dehaye, co-founder of PersonalData.IO, a service that helps individuals regain control over their personal data, also giving evidence to the committee, added that he had heard reports that Muresan was being paid by an Indian billionaire who wanted Congress to lose elections. Its owner Mark Zuckerburg issued a public apology for his company's failure to protect users' data. According to the ads, a quiz app built by a Cambridge University researcher leaked Facebook data of millions of people four years ago.

The company, as well as Facebook, are in the spotlight over alleged unauthorised access to personal data of the social media website's users. He alleges that because 270,000 people took the quiz, the data of some 50 million users, mainly in the USA, was harvested without their explicit consent via their friend networks.

Cambridge Analytica executives said the company worked for Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta's 2013 and 2017 campaigns, in addition to operating in countries like Malaysia and Brazil. However Ovleno's site had listed the BJP, the Congress and a regional party known as the Janata Dal (United) among its clients.

Reports of the data collection came as Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg took out ads in multiple USA and British Sunday newspapers to apologize for the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Zuckerberg said this was a "breach of trust" and that Facebook is taking steps to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Cambridge Analytica denies any of the data acquired was used as part of the services it provided to the Trump campaign.
