Tiangong 1 Chinese space station crash Itlay
A picture posted to Reddit by user Midnight Souls shows a streak of light over Wellington which they claim to be the doomed station.
Launched in September 2011, Tiangong-1 had a design life of two years.It successfully docked with the Shenzhou-8, Shenzhou-9 and Shenzhou-10 spacecraft and undertook a series of experiments. The school bus sized space station served as an experimental lab for Chinese astronauts. That time range is given by the ESA.
Although the craft is largely expected to disintegrate upon re-entering the atmosphere, some parts may still crash down to earth and scientists are unable to say where they will fall.
In 2016 Tiangong-2 was launched as an update to Tiangong-1 and, by 2022, Beijing plans to have Tiangong-3 in orbit as a fully operational manned space station. Besides that, there's a very slight chance falling debris could land in your area.
However, it seems that there is nothing to worry about, as revealed by the Chinese space program, the nine-ton weight device will burn completely when it enters the atmosphere and comes in contact with the air, so it will not impact the ground.
