He kicked off his visit in India by meeting Tamil actor-turned politician, Kamal Haasan. Interestingly, Nolan has watched Kamal Haasan's film Paapanaasam. The actor said that he apologized to the director for watching only the digital version of "Dunkirk". Was surprised to know he had seen Paapanaasam.

It will be followed by a discussion on "Reframing The Future Of Film" on April 1 in Mumbai with Mr. Nolan, Ms. Dean and Mr. Dungarpur.

Nolan's latest Oscar winning film "Dunkrik" which has won three Oscar Awards was shot with film. He is also going to talk about how the celluloid medium can co-exist with the digital mode. Before Nolan's arrival, Dungarpur was quoted by IANS as saying, "Nolan is coming to India to talk about the advent of celluloid and shooting films in celluloid, something that he prefers". According to a TOI report, Nolan has been invited by filmmaker and archivist Shivendra Singh to be a part of an even organised by Film Heritage Foundation. Nolan is accompanied by his wife, Emma Thomas, and he will be speaking about film restoration, preservation and shooting on film and not digital.
