Police in the United Kingdom first confirmed they had opened an investigation into Weinstein in early October after Merseyside police received an allegation of sexual assault in the London area in the 1980s, and referred it to Scotland Yard.
It relates to an alleged sexual assault in the British capital in the mid-1990s.
Last October, the shamed movie mogul was sacked from The Weinstein Company after he faced extensive sexual assault allegations from a multitude of women.
Five insurance companies that issued coverage to Harvey Weinstein want a judge to rule that they are under no obligation to cover him in the myriad of sexual assault lawsuits he is facing. "On 8 February an allegation was received that the man sexually assaulted a woman (Victim 10) in Westminster in the mid-1990s".
The accusations made by 10 women relate to incidents that reportedly took place between the 1980s and 2015. The victim has not been named and Scotland Yard said that there had been no arrests or interviews under caution.

The latest investigation comes less than a week after a documentary called Working With Weinstein, containing several fresh allegations, aired on the U.K.'s Channel 4. The doc, which was produced by Tigerlily Films, alleged that Weinstein physically assaulted My Week With Marilyn producer David Parfitt and featured interviews with former Miramax and Weinstein Company executives including Zelda Perkins, Laura Madden and Gaia Elkington. It was watched by just under 1M people in a 10pm slot on Tuesday night.

Scores of women, including well-known actresses, have accused Weinstein of sexual assault or harassment.
