Gov. Cuomo went to a black church and made an awkward joke about Jews on Palm Sunday.

"In 2018 New Yorkers know that if we aren't going to tolerate the gutting of our schools by Betsy DeVos or the reckless greed and corruption in the White House, we certainly are not going to tolerate it in our own backyard", Nixon said. Cuomo referred to Sheinkopf's movements as "ugly". "We just do it without the rhythm".

"I was watching Mr. Sheinkopf here in the front row moving to the music", the governor said. 'It was ugly. It was ugly'. "He's the governor. He's now in charge of American dancing", he snarked.

A spokeswoman for the governor tells the New York Post Cuomo was just poking fun at a long-time friend.

The risky joke was made during a rousing speech meant to promote spending plans in the state budget due Saturday. The budget calls for $550 million to clean up public housing.
