Dax Shepard (Parenthood) has joined the Netflix series The Ranch, according to EW.
Dax Shepard and Ashton Kutcher bro out at the 2004 Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles.
On The Ranch, a multi-camera comedy revolving around the dysfunctional Bennett family on their Colorado ranch, Shepard will play Luke Matthews, a former soldier who has come to Garrison with some history concerning the Iron River Ranch. Masterson starred alongside Ashton Kutcher, Debra Winger, and Sam Elliott, who all remain with the show. Kutcher and Masterson also serve as executive producers on the series.
Still, Shepard, who is expected to appear in roughly half of the 10 episodes I hear, would likely help fill the void left by the exit of Masterson, who played Colt's older brother Rooster. Part two of Season 2 premiered in December.

Variety is reporting Shepard will play Luke Matthews in The Ranch. Kutcher and Shepard revealed some juicy details about their marriages, including that they had each hooked up with their respective spouse while working on set, and which one of them has ended up in handcuffs. spoiler alert: it was Shepard!
