The president discussed the issue with Irish premier Leo Varadkar during a meeting in the White House on Thursday.
The Taoiseach has been severely criticised after revealing today that he contacted Clare County Council four years ago about a planning matter following a call from US President Donald Trump.
Mrs Bradley will use her first visit to the U.S. as Secretary of State to build key relationships with USA stakeholders who share a keen interest and influence in Northern Ireland and to reinforce the UK Government's priority to see devolution restored as soon as possible.
He said during the discussions the president raised the issue of the Irish "undocumented" - those now living in the United States without legal permission to remain.
Speaking at Brooking Institute in Washington, the Taoiseach also said the failure by Northern Ireland politicians to restore the power sharing executive is "corrosive and dangerous" for the people who elected them to office.
Amid laughter, he added: "Except for trade ..."
Varadkar - the recently elected Irish leader or Taoiseach - said the two had a good meeting, noting that they spoke about Irish people living in the US illegally, the negotiations over the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland and trade.

President Trump was asked by reporters if he would like to visit Ireland soon.
Mr Varadkar said Brexit's impact on the Irish border also featured in the talks, which also involved Vice President Mike Pence.
"That's an interesting border also", he said today.
