Anger as Egyptian student beaten into coma in UK dies
Mariam Moustafa, 18, was left in a coma after being jumped by the group of females outside a shopping centre while she waited for a bus at 8pm on February 20.
A statement from Nottinghamshire Police released on Wednesday said she had died of her injuries after a almost month-long coma. Nottingham is a city of around 320,000 people that's about 125 miles north of London.
The victim was later taken to the Queen's Medical Centre and placed in an induced coma.
According to Egypt Today, Moustafa's mother Nessrin Shehata posted a video on social media saying: "Four months ago, two of the same ten women abused my daughter in the street with no specific reason".
Amid the lack of information regarding the murder of 18-year-old Egyptian student Mariam Moustafa, and the slow investigation results that have been scorned a couple of times by the victim's family and lawyer during their statements, British newspapers and Western media tended to reach for Egyptian websites to get the information they need, including Egypt Today.
'Mariam got a bus and ran on, and told the bus driver to not let them on because they were beating her but he said he couldn't do that.
"They chased her to the top floor and continued to beat her, a man tried to stop them buy standing the middle of them".
A girl, 17, has been arrested on suspicion of the assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, but has since been released on conditional bail.

Moustafa, who was a Central College engineering student in Beeston, is understood to have suffered a bleed on the brain as well as a stroke during the attack.
She was allegedly punched numerous times while trying to get onto a bus, and verbally assaulted thereafter.
Moustafa, who had just been offered a place at a university in London, had originally been discharged from the hospital, but started to deteriorate at home and was rushed back to the hospital.
Ms Moustafa's sister, Mallak, 15, speaking on behalf of the family last month, described her as a "kind, ambitious person" who was living "her dreams of being an engineer".
'A friend of Malak showed her the footage of Mariam being beaten and we showed the police who did nothing again.
He added that anyone proven to be involved or responsible for negligence in providing necessary health care to Mariam during her residence at the hospital will be held accountable.
Detective Chief Inspector Mat Healey, of Nottinghamshire Police, said his thoughts were with the teenager's family and urged witnesses to come forward with information.
