The Fort Worth Fire Department is sending 10 units to the scene for fire and hazardous materials support.

According to CBS News, the successive explosions occurred at a liquid chemical plant operated by Tri-Chem Industries just outside of the city of Fort Worth in the northern part of the state.

Cornett said Tri-Chem Industries mixes chemicals that are primarily used by the oil and gas industry to drill disposal wells, and that although he didn't know how numerous chemicals at the plant were hazardous, "what was burnt and exploded was quite toxic".

A series of explosions at a chemical plant in Hood County, Texas have reportedly left two workers injured, while another remains missing. However, Austin Mitchell says his brother, 27-year-old Dylan Mitchell, is the missing worker.

A "MONSTER" who stabbed an Aldi supermarket worker to death in front of horrified shoppers has been jailed for at least 30 years. Describing him as "truly and horribly rotten to the core", the judge said: 'You sentenced her, in your mind, to death'.

Jesse Bailey works at Metro West Transport, right next to the chemical plant, and said he was rattled by the explosion.

Most employees in the plant were evacuated safely around the time the initial blast occurred, but one person was badly burned and airlifted to a nearby hospital and another sustained undisclosed injuries, Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds said in a statement. Authorities say 12 people were working at the plant at the time of the explosion.

Winds are blowing north at about 15 to 20 miles per hour with gusts of 20 miles per hour or more, heading toward Parker County. No evacuations have been issued.
