Facebook expanding job features to 40 more countries By Ida Torres

Facebook made it workable for businesses to make job postings and for job seekers to apply for those openings specifically on the social network in the US also, Canada.

Social networking giant Facebook is reportedly in the process of launching its job application tool in over 40 countries, about a year after it was unveiled in the United States and Canada.

"One in four people in the U.S. have searched for or found a job using Facebook" writes Facebook's VP of Local Alex Himel.

Similar to other job search engines, on Facebook, users are able to set up job alerts for positions they're interested in.

After candidates apply, Facebook will naturally associate the business Page with the job searcher by means of a Messenger discussion to empower applications to discuss straightforwardly with the organization and affirm their data was gotten.

Facebook has announced that it's expanding the Jobs section of its site to 40 more countries, including Brazil, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. Job seekers can also subscribe to company's listings to get alerts of fresh openings. Facebook's jobs features take over where LinkedIn left off so to speak, in the sense that they cater to small businesses mostly.

When they're ready to apply, users can create an application which will automatically populate with job history and other information available on their Facebook profile.

Job seekers and creators don't need to pay Facebook for any access to the tool.

You can edit your application before you submit it. This includes your official Business Page, the Jobs dashboard, in the Marketplace, and in your followers' News Feed. At this point, it's hard to say, both because Facebook seems to be targeting a somewhat different crowd and because its jobs service is still in its infancy.

Businesses can schedule interviews, send automated reminders and can contact the applicant directly through the Messenger app.

The company also said it plans to invest about $1 billion in its teams, technology and new programs in 2018.
