British Stansted Airport in Essex county was partially evacuated on Friday afternoon after a fire on a auto outside the building sent flames and plumes of smoke into the air.
"Due to the earlier evacuation of the terminal, all passengers are now in the process of being re-screened through security".
A spokesman for Stansted airport said: "All departing flights have now been cancelled and passengers are politely asked to leave the Airport".
Bosses at the airport have apologised and urged passengers to re-book flights with their respective airlines.
Flights were delayed as airport officials said they were urgently investigating the fire that broke out on the vehicle park shuttle bus.

The airport confirmed the incident in a Twitter post at 16:40pm (UK GMT), adding it was investigating "as a matter of urgency".
A spokesman for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters are now at the scene of an incident at Stansted Airport".
