Forecasters watch 3rd storm, as NJ power outages linger

A major snowstorm will bring plowable snow Monday evening into Tuesday to the Portsmouth area. Damage to trees and power lines is possible as snow will be accompanied with strong to damaging winds, especially over southeast MA and Rhode Island.

The storm will arrive Monday evening with light snow initially, but the steadier and heavier snow will arrive Tuesday morning, tapering off Tuesday afternoon. The Boston area is predicted to get 6-8 inches while ME could see more than a foot of snow by Wednesday. The Pinpoint Weather Team is now looking over the latest information, and will have an update tonight at 6:30 on Eyewitness News.

The National Weather Service reports Sunday that a southern storm is expected to make its way up the coast causing more snowfall.

Hendrix says the advisory will take effect at midnight and will continue until late Monday night and drivers can expect travel difficulties, snow-covered streets, and limited visibilities.
