It takes over the release date from Dark Phoenix, which has moved to February 14, 2019, where it will open against Paramount's Mark Wahlberg-Rose Byrne comedy Instant Family.
20th Century Fox has moved up the release of its Freddie Mercury movie Bohemian Rhapsody while delaying the release of two X-Men movies - Dark Phoenix and New Mutants, the studio announced late Monday night.
New Mutants, starring another Game of Thrones actress, Maisie Williams, was scheduled for release on February 22, 2019 and now the movie has been pushed back all the way until August 2, 2019.
The release date shift for Dark Phoenix - directed by Simon Kinberg and starring Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Sophie Turner and Jessica Chastain - is not as drastic but is still fuel for speculation about what exactly Fox is doing with the X-franchise at this point.
In an announcement late Monday night, the studio said it had set November 2 as the new launch date for "Bohemian Rhapsody", which had been set for December 25.

Fox's next Marvel-based film, Deadpool 2, is scheduled for release on May 18. In the movie, the X-Men are now national heroes.
