Google shutting down goo.gl URL shortener next year, existing links will keep working
Google launched its goo.gl URL shortening service back in 2009 for Feedburner and Google Toolbar. The support for goo.gl will be turned down over the coming weeks and will be replaced with with Firebase Dynamic Links (FDL). After the expiring date, the links will still work, but users will no longer be able to access the console itself after March 30th, 2019. However, Android Police pointed out that FDLs shouldn't technically be referred to as the replacement of goo.gl short links.
Also, short URLs that have already been created till today, would continue to function as it is and would be redirecting internet users to the mapped links. Google has informed that starting April 13, 2018 both registered and unregistered users of the service will not be able to create new short links. Google has announced that the goo.gl service will be shutting down. Google has suggested developers to make use of FDL APIs which will automatically detect user's platform and send the URL either to the web or your app, appropriately. If you are a registered user you will be able to access the features of goo.gl console until March 30, 2019.

Google recommends Firebase Dynamic Links or services such as Bitly and Ow.ly as an alternative for creating new short links. The user's existing short links will not be migrated to the Firebase console. But consumers can still manage short links through the console until that time. For one thing, FDL will only be beneficial to developers, so non-developers won't have use for the new service.
