- Fisherman Kyle Morningstar and a friend were visited by this Great White shark some 26 miles off of Ponce Inlet, Florida.

Morningstar says the shark circled the boat, giving them enough time to grab a phone and start recording.

Morningstar estimated that the shark was 12 to 15 feet long, and that it was more than half the size of his boat.

"It was just something insane to see and we want people to see it", Morningstar, who was fishing with his friends when the encounter with the shark took place, said.

They quickly realized it was a great white shark.

The 31-year-old Port Orange resident was pulling up the anchor of the boat around 2:30 p.m. when he looked over the side of his 23-foot boat and saw a fin poke out of the water.

Morningstar said this was not the first time he had gone out fishing but never encountered a great white before, especially this big.

The shark disappeared into the deep, Morningstar said, but the video is going viral - a once-in-a-lifetime encounter, now spreading worldwide.
