The party is on the verge of losing power in Meghalaya while it drew a blank in both Nagaland and Tripura.
Conrad Sangma's NPP has won 19 seats in the assembly elections and has the support of six legislators from the United Democratic Party, four from People's Democratic Front (PDF), and two each from the HSPDP and the BJP, besides an Independent lawmaker Samuel Sangma. BJP is following a risky game of destabilisation, subversion and usurpation of power in North East, unmindful of the stability, security, peace and progress.
The BJP is bound to use the Tripura verdict to inject a new fighting spirit among its cadres, especially in Bengal and Kerala.
Currently, the BJP runs governments in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Manipur.
BJP leaders have hailed the verdict and said it is a precursor to what will happen in Karnataka and other parts of the country. Congress party's moneybags and the architects of infamous "Cash for Votes" scandal whom you despatched to Meghalaya have failed to deliver a govt to you in Meghalaya.

This even as BJP was a constituent of the current government with Naga People's Front (NPF), NDPP's political rival.
"They told us that we are too late in discussing the matter and they also doubted the stability of the Congress, "Sangma said while maintaining that historically such coalition arrangements formed by NPP with so many partners will not be capable of providing stability in the state".
The Congress had made all attempts to convince the regional parties to support it in government formation.
