High Wind Warning Issued for Fairfax County; Power Outages Possible

The National Weather Service warned that "widespread power outages are possible". Motorists should use caution, especially motorists in high profile vehicles. This makes the soil softer and "easier" for trees to become uprooted during high winds or storms. Wind gusts are expected to reach speeds of 50 to 60 miles per hour with even higher gusts along the ridges and higher elevations.

School systems across Northern Virginia are monitoring forecasts for Friday, March 2, 2018.
