After several days of teasing her new single on social media, Meghan Trainor has shared the upbeat dance track No Excuses and its pastel-hued video.
The Grammy victor talked to People about "No Excuses" and her upcoming third studio album slated for a 2018 release. "No Excuses" is an infectious anthem from the off, armed with swaggering bass lines, bright guitars, and widescreen synths.
The message of the song ties into the current #TimesUp and #MeToo movements that are happening across the globe. "Thank you for loving me, supporting me and helping me realize what's most important", Meghan told fans on Instagram ahead of the release. "I wanted to write us all a powerful anthem".
She added: "It's my modern version of 'R-E-S-P-E-C-T.' It's all about equality and being kind".
