An Indian coast guard Helicopter, carrying four personnel crashed near the region of Nandgaon, Raigad in Maharasthra.

The incident took place during the landing of the aircraft.

The Indian Navy sent three helicopters to respond to its call.

A probe is underway into the reason behind the mishap.

The four onboard include Deputy Commandant Balwinder Singh, Assistant Commandant Penny Choudhary, Naviks - Sandeep and Baljeet.

The coastguard helicopter crash comes almost two months after a Pawan hans chopper of state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) crashed off the coast of Mumbai, leading to the death of all seven onboard. A statement issued by the Indian Coast Guard acknowledged the crash and said it occurred at the deserted Nandgaon Beach in Raigad.

The chopper crash landed while conducting coastal surveillance.
