A group have 35 women have been detained in Iran after attempting to attend a football match.
Infantino traveled to Tehran Wednesday night to attend a ceremony to celebrate 100-year anniversary of Iran football federation.
Iraqi officials had invited Infantino in the hope of convincing world football's governing body that the country, battered by years of violence and conflict, is fit to host global fixtures.
The country has not played full internationals on home turf ever since its 1990 invasion of Kuwait that sparked an global embargo.
Infantino had been present on Thursday for the Tehran derby between Esteghlal and Persepolis.

Iran's influential clergy believes women have no place in football stadiums when men are over-excited and vulgar slogans are shouted.
But women have been banned from watching football in Iran since 1979, and as a effect, they were temporarily held by police before being released after the match.
Soltanifar asked Infantino to deal with this issue in conjunction with the Asian Football Confederation so that Iran could organise matches without the need to play in a neutral third country.
FIFA technical director Marco Van Basten, who is also in Iran, has said the ban should be lifted, and former FIFA president Sepp Blatter called the ban "intolerable" in 2015, urging Iran to open up its football stadiums to women.
Also at the meeting, the President of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) Gianni Infantino expressed satisfaction over meeting with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and said, "Football has an important social role worldwide, and the Iranian people are truly among the most passionate fans of football in the world".
"We will focus our efforts on entertaining the football masses, whether they were in Iran, Saudi Arabia or wherever in the world", he added.
