Turkish prosecutors ordered the detention of 70 serving army officers over alleged links to the US -based preacher accused of orchestrating an attempted coup in 2016, CNN Turk said on Thursday.
In an operation carried out between Turkey's National Intelligence Organisation (MIT) and Kosovo's spy services, six high-ranking members of the Gulen movement were brought back home on a private plane, Anadolu news agency reported, citing security sources.
According to the agency, the detainees are accused of helping FETO members flee Turkey to countries like the United States.
Ankara said the six arrested in Kosovo on Thursday were responsible for recruitment in Gulen's network and helped people accused of connections to the network leave Turkey during a security crackdown in which tens of thousands of people have been sacked from their jobs or jailed over alleged Gulen links.
A military coup attempt took place in Turkey in July 2016.
