Dora the Explorer Movie Will Release Summer 2019
Yes, this is a real thing, a live action Dora the Explorer movie is on the way and Paramount has now set a release date. "Dora the Explorer" is being developed through the studio's Paramount Players division, which hired writer-director Nick Stoller in October to work on the script. James Bobin, whose credits include "Alice Through the Looking Glass" and "Muppets Most Wanted, is attached to direct "Dora". The film is produced by Michael Bay's production company Platinum Dunes, which he co-founded with Andrew Form and Brad Fuller.
THR reports the movie is opening in theaters on August 2, 2019.
Details about the film are scarce for now, however as next year's summer season approaches, we may soon get our first look at the titular Dora along with her merry band of friends including Boots, Map, Backpack and the thieving scoundrel Swiper. The movie will reportedly take place several years after the series, as Dora, now a teenager, moves to the big city to live with her cousin, Diego.
