Facebook Live shooting: Suspect in custody after killing caught on video
A North Carolina man filmed his own death while broadcasting on Facebook Live Monday near Wingate University, outside Charlotte, according to local media.
The 55-year-old was using a selfie stick to do a Facebook Live as he was returning home, but on his journey, he came across a man and was savagely murdered.
A North Carolina man has been charged with a fatal shooting captured live on Facebook not far from a town's police department. He then seems to notice another person, identified by police as 65-year-old Colson, on the footpath. Robinson says "you're live, you're live" and points the camera in the assailant's direction. An investigation into a possible motive for the shooting is ongoing, but what is speculated is that Robinson may have made a few enemies in recent times.
Police say Mr Robinson would often go on Facebook Live to expose problems in the neighbourhood. "I just got through talking to him".
The live stream continued as he talked to a police officer to report the theft.
This is Douglas Colson, the suspected gunman who police are trying to trace Police cars at the scene.

Sources have said Robinson had previously outed suspected local drug dealer on Facebook.
Facebook has removed the video from Robinson's profile, and could not be immediately reached for comment. Video showed the victim engaged with the suspect, whose face wasn't visible before four gunshots went off. People who hoped to leave birthday wishes on his Facebook page were instead confronted with video of his final moments.
Police Chief Donnie Gay suggested Robinson, who used Facebook Live nearly daily, may have been targeted because he'd outed the identities of suspected drug dealers in earlier broadcasts. "We will apply a warning screen to future uploads of the video meant to raise awareness or condemn this tragedy, and limit accessibility to people over the age of 18".
