Neville John Hord, 44, of Great Horton Road, Bradford, was sentenced today at Bradford Crown Court after he admitted killing 30-year-old mother and Aldi employee Jodie Louise Willsher days before Christmas.

Describing him as "truly and horribly rotten to the core", the judge said: 'You sentenced her, in your mind, to death'.

A "MONSTER" who stabbed an Aldi supermarket worker to death in front of horrified shoppers has been jailed for at least 30 years.

He said it was a "cold-blooded public execution perpetrated for the objective of revenge".

The court head Hord had carefully planned the killing for two weeks, placing a tracking device on Ms Willsher's auto and obtaining a number of possible murder weapons including a pistol crossbow.

The judge said: "You chose a time and a place to, in effect, execute; to kill; to murder".

He said the killing was calculated to cause the "maximum pain, horror, shock and trauma" and added it was likely he would never be released from prison.

New Orleans Saints owner Benson passes away
He and his wife Gayle changed the name to the Pelicans, a moniker once carried by the city's former minor league baseball team. They also invested in local companies like Dixie Beer, and TV and film production companies.

Mr Moulson said Hord was the ex-partner of Ms Willsher's mother, Nicole Dinsdale, and his motive was "revenge".

Hord, who it was said had a possible personality disorder, blamed the breakdown of his relationship in November on Mrs Willsher's "interfering" and spent two weeks planning to kill her before the stabbing.

He said Megan and her daughter had an "unbreakable bond".

At Mrs Willsher's funeral Mr Willsher said his wife's death had left a "great hole in our lives" and added that she and his daughter were "more than mother and daughter, they were best friends".

Jodie's devastated family was forced to bury the mother earlier this year, with her grieving husband Malcolm remembering her as being full of "fun, life and vitality". "My thoughts are with the family at this very hard time".

The police investigation revealed that Hord had placed a tracking device on Ms Willsher's auto; had researched his attack extensively on the internet; and had equipped himself with a knife, axe and crossbow, as well as making enquiries about acquiring a gun.
