UPDATE 2-Kenya opposition politician says was drugged in forced deportation

Kenyans on Twitter have been taunting Nasa leader Raila Odinga over his unity handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta, which they claim brought no relief Miguna Miguna's troubles.

He also faulted the government for failure to obey court orders requiring them and to allow and facilitate him access by the Kenya National Commission for Human Rights, his advocates and family members at the airport before he reaches the Immigration and Customs desks at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport upon his return to Kenya. The crowd attempted to push their way in but were blocked by security officers.

Earlier on, Miguna alleged that the Immigration department meant to deport him to Dubai after he refused to apply for a temporary visa for him to be allowed back into the country.

"They will have to kill me first", he told journalists through the seals of the locked doors.

The youths were yelling, "open the door or we break through".

The stand-off lasted several hours since 2.30pm when Miguna's plane touched down at the airport.

Miguna had arrived into the country from Canada where he was deported on February 6.

Lawyers James Orengo, John Khaminwa, Judy Soweto and Nelson Havi were with Miguna at the airport trying to secure his clearance.

"The despots have denied me entry! He declined. It is a requirement under law & IATA regulations for travellers to show the documents they travelled in at the point of entry", said Mr. Njoka.

Since his arrival at JKIA on Wednesday afternoon, the controversial lawyer together with his legal team refused to abide by government orders saying the new demands were not protected by the court order that granted his re-entry into the country.

Justice Chacha Mwita ruled that failure by the director of Immigration Gordon Kihalangwa to comply with the directive, Miguna Miguna is free to use his Canadian passport to return to Kenya until his petition is heard and determined.
