It looks like the Warriors might have to put that advantage to use when the playoffs start with news coming out that Stephen Curry will be re-evaluated in three weeks after suffering a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee.

The Warriors announced Saturday that Curry suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain and will be reevaluated in three weeks, meaning in an absolute best-case scenario, he would return near the start of the playoffs. And there's also no denying that Curry is the motor that makes the Warriors run. Without a doubt, Curry's injury affected the seeding of the Golden State Warriors as they are now 5.5 games behind the leading Houston Rockets. "There's no way. I mean, he'll be re-evaluated in three weeks".

The Warriors essentially are locked into the Western Conference's second seed behind the Rockets, meaning Curry's absence will not impact their playoff positioning.

"As much as I love his left-handed shot, I'd still prefer the right-handed one", Kerr said.

Steve Kerr says "there's no way" Stephen Curry will play in the first round of the playoffs. "We gotta be ready to play without him and see how he's coming along". The Warriors have had injuries to other high-profile players on their team recently. Boston trailed East-leading Toronto by 4 1/2 games and six ahead of Cleveland.

Zion Williamson wins McDonald's All-American dunk contest
On Monday night he defended that title winning the POWERADE Jam Fest slam dunk title at Morehouse College. The 2018 McDonald's All-American boys game will take place Wednesday at Philips Arena in Atlanta.

"It's nice that I'm walking and not limited with crutches or anything like that, so that's a positive", Curry said. Klay Thompson is expected to miss several more games with a fractured right thumb. "I joked that my first thought was, 'Thank God, it's not my ankle.' But other than that, I was just trying to take my time and kind of assess what was going on".

The Warriors will enter the playoffs shorthanded as they will be without the services of Steph Curry for at least the beginning of their first round series. And center JaVale McGee, who knew something was wrong, desperately hoped nothing was wrong. "Just got to hold down the fort and understand this is all part of the journey". It's been a slow grind for these Warriors with more bumps and bruises than usual this season.

Curry returned to action Friday last week against the Atlanta Hawks after missing six consecutive games from twisting his ankle earlier this month. Durant (ribs), Klay Thompson (hand) and Draymond Green (pelvic contusion) also are unavailable for the Warriors, but the team expects them back relatively soon. They have, however, wavered a little in the last couple of games, allowing Dallas to score 112 points on Thursday before having 124 scored on them by the Spurs, albeit with an overtime period.

Kerr has major confidence in his team and rightfully so as they're still a very risky team with Curry out.

So what happens if Curry isn't back for the first round?
