London area flu season has peaked, say heath officials
There were more than 22,600 flu cases total this season, many medical professionals in New Jersey have been left tired from this year's outbreak, which could end up rivaling the 2009 swine flu pandemic, according to some experts.
Multiple flu infections in the same person are rare but not unheard of.
"Older adults, individuals with chronic health conditions, pregnant women, young children, and infants are more vulnerable to flu illness", said Dr. Christopher Perkins, DCHHS health authority/medical director.
The death total for this flu season has now reached 305, the highest number tallied in the past decade.
