St. Louis company's pacifier and teether holders recalled due to choking hazard

The recall was issued Thursday night.

The CPSC's alert includes a recall for about 600,000 Dr. Brown's products present a danger to young children because a snap on the pacifier's ribbon can detach, which then presents a choking hazard.

They come in eight styles: Giraffe, Zebra, Turtle, Reindeer (Special Holiday Edition), Frog (Special Holiday Edition), Spring Bunny (Special Holiday Edition), Deer and Bunny.

Lot codes can be found on the tag attached to the holder.

The recall comes after The Handi-Craft Company received 67 reports of the ribbon fraying and the snap detaching.

No injuries have been reported, CPSC said.

Items included in the recall have these codes: RICH0615, RICH0715, RICH0815, RICH1215, RICH0516, RICH0616, RICH0716, RICH1116, RICH1016, RICH0916, RICH1216, RICH0317, RICH0417, RICH0517, RICH0617, RICH0717, RICH0817 and RICH0917.

The products, imported by Handi-Craft, were made in China by Yangzhou Rich Arts and Crafts Co.

Anyone who has one of these toys should remove it from the child's possession and contact parent company Handi-Craft at 833-224-7674 during business hours.
