Neil Gaiman announces new Sandman Universe line of comics — exclusive
Watters and Howard, while relatively inexperienced in comparison, both have impressive bodies of work, with Watters having written for a number of franchise-based comic series and Howard having worked with Gaiman directly before.
The first to be released is The Sandman Universe #1 plotted by Gaiman and written by Spurrier, Hopkinson, Watters, and Howard. The art for the comic will be by Bilquis Everly, with a cover by Jae Lee. Each of those four writers will then go on to explore the "Sandman Universe" in four different series. Likewise, the series' lengths and release dates have not been disclosed.
After The Sandman Universe #1, which Gaiman is plotting with his all-star writing team handling the actual script, four new series will detail the adventures of the classic characters and new additions to the world of The Sandman. The Sandman Universe begins with four new ongoing series, existing in a shared universe, building upon Gaiman's New York Times best-selling series that lyrically weaved together stories of dreams and magic.
That sandbox largely revolves around the eponymous Sandman, or Dream (or Morpheus, Oneiros, the King of Dreams, the Prince of Stories, etc. etc.); a universal embodiment of the concepts of imagination, creativity and dreaming.

The group mistakenly steals the essence of a voodoo deity, Erzulie, and plunges her house into the Dreaming. The series' will explore the mystery of the tutelar house's appearance alongside the House of Mystery and House of Secrets. Now suffering from Cotard delusion, the journey will catalyze her family into becoming the guardians of the rift.
A few years ago, this might have raised some eyebrows from old-school fans. People will ask, "Can we do this?" and I'll be like, "No". Trapped in a freaky prison with no memory of how he got there or why. Meanwhile, a dying LAPD officer is drawn to uncover his own self-ascribed divine mission. Oh, and those are the good guys.
