The book tells a new story following Han Solo and Lando Calrissian just in time for the upcoming film, Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Here's a synopsis: Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy.
Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters on May 25, 2018. Tarkin is primarily set 14 years prior to the Battle of Yavin, which means we're looking at a gap of almost a decade where Solo could be taking place. While not seen in the live-action movies, Thrawn plays a major part in the Expanded Universe as well as Star Wars Rebels, where he is voiced by Mads Mikkelsen's older brother Lars. The image shows Alden Ehrenreich's Solo alongside Joonas Suotamo's Chewbacca, with the Millennium Falcon in the background. That also means Solo takes place after Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, and just after the Empire's rise.

It's been ten years since the rebel hero Han Solo last encountered Fyzen Gor. It has some mighty big boots to fill if it's to really stand shoulder to shoulder with Rogue One, but perhaps more than anything else, we're eagerly anticipating the moment when Donald Glover's mustachioed rogue, Lando Calrissian (AKA Childish Landino), walks into frame. But the device's creator, the volatile criminal Fyzen Gor, isn't interested in sharing. After mounting a successful rebellion against the Empire and starting a family with an Alderaanian princess, Han hasn't given much thought to the mad inventor.
The film is just over two months away from release, and anticipation levels for it are now hard to gauge: the English-language trailer had a decent if divided reaction, and ongoing production difficulties made it tricky for people to figure out how excited they should get. And without Han's help, Lando-and all life on Cloud City-will be annihilated.
