Direct Champions League group stage qualification increased to 26 teams
For the 2018-19 campaign, there will be 26 teams automatically qualified for the group stages - the holders, the Europa League winners, the top four from associations ranked 1st to 4th, top two from associations ranked 5th and 6th, and the champions of associations ranked 7th to 10th.
The Scottish champions will need to win four two-legged ties to reach the group stage - three qualifying rounds and a play-off round.
That goes for the top four leagues in the continent so Spain, Germany and Italy are also included meaning the Premier League is far from under threat of losing their fourth spot as France sit quite far behind in fifth.
The victor of the Europa League will also become the owner of a ticket to the group stage of the Champions League.
In qualifying will have two branches - the League route and the path of Champions, but now the group stage of the Champions League will see six clubs.
It's been 25 years since UEFA revamped and renamed the European Cup to the Champions League and, in truth, change was inevitable.
The winners of the previous season's UEFA Europa League - previously assured of only a play-off place as a minimum - will also be guaranteed entry to the competition proper as of next term.
