Maintaining that Pakistan wants constructive ties with America, he said that in the high-level engagements recently, the US officials have been told that Trumps "unwarranted" allegations against the country were against the cooperative history of the US-Pak relationship. "However Pakistan will not act as a proxy in any US-led war", he said.

In the past Pakistani rulers compromised the country's sovereignty only to protect their own rule and interests, and fought a "fake jihad" for the defence of the USA, said Mr Asif.

The minister was responding to the questions asked by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman, who told the house that eight Muslim countries were the member of the United Nations committee but three of them, including Pakistan, abstained from voting which was conducted against the massacre in Syria.

He said that the powers which destabilised Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Libya, did not keep well-wishes for Pakistan. The next target of the militant group could very well be Pakistan.

He did not elaborate the forces behind the introduction of the dreaded terrorist group.
