A male pedestrian has died after he was hit by an unmarked York Regional Police vehicle according to a statement by the SIU
Ontario's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is calling for help from the public to find out what happened that caused a 63-year-old man to be taken to hospital after police were called on Saturday to a Hamilton home.
A short time later. police say the suspect stole another truck and ran over Smith who was trying to prevent the theft.
The SIU said London police saw a stolen pickup truck being driven near Hamilton Road and Egerton Street at about 8:30 p.m. February 8. Despite attempts to stop the vehicle, the driver did not stop for officers, the SIU said in a statement Tuesday.
When police arrived, the SIU found, the man threw a piece of cardboard at one officer and walked toward him with his fists clenched.
