As the #BoycottNRA movement grew on Twitter, with petitions circulating against companies that offer discounts to NRA members, a growing number of those businesses announced they are cutting or reducing ties with the association. Chubb insurance halted underwriting of the NRA's "Carry Guard" firearms program, First National Bank of Omaha will no longer offer NRA-branded credit cards and several major transportation companies including Hertz, United Airlines, Delta Airlines and Enterprise also discontinued discounts to NRA members.
Also on Friday, vehicle rental company Hertz said in a tweet that it has "notified the NRA that we are ending the NRA's rental auto discount program". Both Delta and United said Saturday that they will no longer offer discounted airfares to NRA members to attend their annual meetings, and both have asked the gun rights group to remove any references to their companies from the NRA website. The NRA has not responded.
Delta Air Lines on Saturday said it would end discounted rates through its group travel program. "I think they have entirely too much power in this country in terms of lobbying and affecting law around gun control". Most of these companies do promotional tie-ins with groups to spur customer loyalty to NRAmembers, and do not receive money directly from the NRA.
One big way that the NRA retains its members is through discounts on everything from vehicle insurance to hotel rooms.
A 19-year-old former student at the Parkland school, Nikolas Cruz, used an assault-style rifle to carry out the February 14 shooting.
On Saturday, rental vehicle company, Hertz joined the list of those boycotting the NRA, including insurance company, MetLife and First National Bank of Omaha.
On Friday, vehicle rental company Hertz said in a tweet that it's also ending its NRA rental auto discount program.

Wyndham Worldwide Corp: Tweeted it is no more affiliated with the NRA, having ended its relationship late past year. Midway USA issued a statement doubling down in response, saying "no company in America is more dedicated" to the NRA.
"Although this call is meant to focus on our business, like all Americans, we also struggle with the shock and sadness of these frightful events", Sturm Ruger said. But unlike other companies that have taken a similar stance, FedEx will not cut its business ties with the gun rights advocacy group.
Both UPS and the U.S. Postal Service are listed as shippers for the NRA online store, which "includes accessories such as ball caps, T-shirts, holsters and hunting and sporting goods merchandise", UPS added.
