Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery mobile game shows off spells and duels in new trailer
Everywhere you look these days, there's that wizard with the scar, Harry Potter, and it doesn't look like that's changing any time soon. Both Hogwarts Mystery and Niantic's Wizards United were announced a year ago for release in 2018. The much-anticipated augmented-reality-based game is coming out in Spring 2018, and is the first one where players can actually create their own character and "experience life as a Hogwarts student". Late previous year, Niantic announced an AR game set in J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World.

There's no release date yet, but interested would-be witches and wizards can sign up to be notified once the game from Jam City launches. Fans of the Harry Potter franchise have long dreamed of being able to walk the halls of Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry, attending classes, talking with their favorite characters and having their own magical adventures.

The game takes place during the 1980's when Bill Weasley and Nymphadora Tonks were at Hogwarts, before Harry was born.
