British Jewish leaders are reportedly set to request Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn permanently kick out London's controversial ex-Mayor Ken Livingstone from the party as part of his renewed pledge to rid anti-Semitism from Labour's ranks.
Demonstrators were calling for Corbyn to resign as they shouted "shame on you".
Organised by the Board of Deputies of British Jews and the Jewish Leadership Council, speakers included the Labour MPs John Mann, Luciana Berger, Louise Ellman and Wes Streeting, as well as Haringey Council leader Claire Kober.
The joint statement praised the impact of Monday's demonstration, which saw "thousands of people from our community and far beyond came together in Parliament Square to tell Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party leadership that Enough is Enough", at just 24-hours notice. Corbyn published a written apology ahead of the protest.
"If you are honest about your pledge to tackle the virus that is anti-Semitism, and if, as you say, you will never be anything other than a militant opponent of anti-Semitism, then you will act".
The article, on the Jewish Socialists' Group website, highlighted a survey purported to show the "main repository of anti-Semitic views in Britain is among supporters of the Conservative Party and UKIP".

In an open letter, they said that "again and again, Jeremy Corbyn has sided with anti-Semites rather than Jews". "The suggestion that the concerns of British Jews represent a targeted political attack delegitimises the issues the British Jewish Community has with your leadership of HM Opposition, and appeals to ancient anti-Semitic tropes regarding Jewish control of the media and society". He also has apologized separately for the 2012 Facebook post, as well as for his 2009 comments about Hamas and Hezbollah.
In a statement issued Monday as the protesters began to gather, Corbyn pledged to be "a militant opponent of anti-Semitism", telling the Jewish community: "In this fight, I am your ally and always will be".
He said he was "sincerely sorry for the pain which has been caused", and vowed Labour would have "zero tolerance for anti-Semites".
While condemning Israel's treatment of the Palestinians, Corbyn also acknowledged that some criticism of Israel veers into anti-Semitism.
A pro-Corbyn group, Jewish Voice for Labour, held a small counterprotest next to Monday's demonstration.
