Ripple and its Executives Donate $29 Million to Fund All 35647 Classroom Requests on DonorsChoose.org

We're thrilled to announce that Ripple and its executive team are giving back to America's teachers with a $29 million dollar donation in XRP to DonorsChoose.org.

The donation stands to fulfill 35,647 requests from 28,210 public school teachers across every state in the US. "It's the largest...the largest donation to DonorsChoose in history!"

Ripple, which was founded in 2012, uses blockchain technology to allow customers at various banks or financial institutions to send money overseas without incurring heavy fees or commission rates. In a joint statement with Ripple's VP of Marketing Monica Long, DonorsChoose founder Charles Best said "The teachers behind these projects work with more than a million students who are now going to get materials and experiences that they need to learn". The company now has a supply of $100 billion in XRP on its platform.

In a way, both Ripple and DonorsChoose are working to remove barriers to how people can access funding.

"You can join us by contributing to the new projects that teachers are already creating on DonorsChoose.org".

Facebook Stops Playing Hide-And-Seek With Its Privacy Settings
The bad news is that the data kept on file about your social media use is vast, scary, and probably far deeper than you realise. There is a new Facebook page - called Access Your Information - where users can see what they have shared and manage it.

This is just the latest instance of organizations and individuals associated with the cryptocurrency industry putting their newfound wealth to a good cause. "And if we can tap into their frontline expertise, it will unleash better-targeted, smarter micro solutions than what someone would come up with from on high in the central office or an ivory tower". Best was encouraged to try because Larsen has been previously involved with the charity.

Best says the response has been overwhelming - in a good way. "I did hear back, and we met two weeks later we talked it through and they made a decision to do it". The total schools reached by the donation represent about 16% of America's public schools.

"To my own shock, they said yes".

"Also, as part of the #BestSchoolDay campaign, DonorsChoose.org is setting up a fund that is dedicated to allocating resources to teachers who are new to using the platform", the DonorsChoose spokesperson said.

"Presently, they are not receiving an equitable educational experience to support "Balance Literacy" in the classroom compared to their peers in affluent educational communities because of the lack of books", Lincoln wrote in her project proposal.
