The RJD leader, who is serving a prison sentence for his role in the fodders scam, had received permission from a court to receive treatment at AIIMS. The RJD was has been admitted to AIIMS after he had complaints of uneasiness while serving his jail term in Bisra Munda Jail in Ranchi.
"His condition will be monitored by a team of specialists from five departments - endocrinology, cardiology, nephrology, neurology and surgery", said a hospital personnel on condition of anonymity. However, there had been little clarity on the nature of the illness.
A medical board at the RIMS where Prasad was being treated made a decision to refer him to the AIIMS for better treatment, hospital Director R K Srivastav said.
