Scott Brown in action for Scotland
Kieran Tierney would be a "credible" Scotland captain following Scott Brown's decision to retire from global football, according to Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.
The 32-year-old, who won 55 caps for his country while also skippering the team for the last five years, made the announcement in a statement to Celtic's official website.
Brown says it's always been a "huge honour" to play for his country.

'It was something he obviously had to think about at this stage of his career.
"He's been a wonderful player for Scotland and a real inspirational captain". He's a totally different person to what he is a player.

Rodgers revealed he hadn't appreciated all of Brown's qualities until he got the chance to work with him on a daily basis but said he had always admired him from afar. Really focused and he is a big game player.

The Scottish winger did cause Mikael Lustig a number of problems, with the Swede being sent off for two fouls on Mackay-Steven, but beyond that he did very little and the Celtic boss is unlikely to be regretting the decision to move him on.
