'Blade Runner 2049's Roger Deakins Finally Gets His Cinematography Oscar In 14th Try

Before Sunday, legendary cameraman Roger Deakins had won every major prize for cinematography but one.
"I guess I'd better say something, or else they'll give me a jet ski, and I can't see myself on a jet ski somehow", Deakins joked in his brief acceptance speech.
Deakins has always been considered one of the best cinematographers in the world, but while he's being nominated for 13 Oscars, he had yet to win. But one of the reasons I really love it is because of the people I work with, both in front of the camera and behind the camera.
He is widely considered one of the most reliable and innovative photographers in the history of cinema.
