Sea Of Thieves real life quest for golden bananas could win you £80k
Yes, you heard us right, no, this is not a joke, and yes, this is actually happening. Indeed, starting Monday, March 19th, you can solve riddles and have the opportunity to win three UK Hallmarked 18-carat golden bananas worth about $27,000 United States dollars per banana. A promotion for the upcoming release of Sea of Thieves, the event enables you to team up with up to three other golden banana-loving friends to "crack cryptic clues" and follow a trail that leads to treasure.
Microsoft is going all-in for its Sea of Thieves promotional campaign ahead of the game's launch.
The quest for treasure will precisely begin at 12:00 a.m. PST and continue over the course of three days and 15 different riddles.
The exciting quest was announced on Inside XBox and is open for crews of up to four shipmates in the UK, Australia, France, the US, Germany and Canada. And then on Wednesday, March 21 at 1:00 a.m. PST, participants from eligible countries will be able to input the answers to said riddles at xbox.com/thebananaquest. Once all 15 puzzles are completed, you have seven hours to submit answers and enter to win.

The golden prize at stake takes inspiration from the bananas eaten in-game to restore a player's health, and have been created by actual London-based goldsmiths Smith & Harris. Runner up prizes will also be handed out.
