Chilly start to a mild, sunny Friday

St. Patrick's Day is shaping up to be a dry and mild one with mostly sunny conditions and highs in the 50s.

Friday night will be cool and clear with temperatures sinking through the 60s and into the low 50s. After that, dry and mostly cloudy weather should prevail with highs reaching the upper 60s (and low 70s if any extended period of sun occurs).

It's wonderful Carolina sunshine for the rest of our Thursday and much warmer temperatures! Highs will reach the lower 70s. Clouds will increase Friday night as a backdoor cool front approaches the area. Expect lows in the upper 30s to lower 40s. A few storms could be strong to locally severe with gusty winds and hail, mainly in the afternoon and evening.

Rain showers with possible isolated thunderstorms will track into Mid-Missouri from the west tonight into Friday.

Sunday will be warm and pleasant as well with temps climbing to 71 and partly cloudy skies.
