Stars have paid tribute to comedy giant Sir Ken Dodd following his death aged 90.
The Liverpudlian funnyman passed away on Sunday (11Mar18) - just days after marrying long-term partner Anne Jones at their house, the same one in which he grew up, on Friday (09Mar18).
Sir Ken died at the home where he was born in the Liverpool suburb of Knotty Ash in 1927.
He was known by colleagues for being careful with cash and when he was earning up to £10,000 per month, he told accountants that he lived on annual expenses of just £3,500, had not bought a new suit for two or three years and never had a holiday until he was 51. It's absolutely unbelievable. With Ken gone, the lights have been turned out in the world of variety. "He was a comedy legend and genius", he said.
Holmes added: "To my mind, he was one of the last music hall greats".
'He died two days later on Mother's Day. Anne is obviously very upset.
He told the Daily Mail newspaper he enjoys going to church every week and he loves the quote, 'However black the clouds may be/In time they'll pass away/Have faith and trust and you will see/God's light make bright your day'.

He was acquitted following a five-week trial, accused of tax fraud, in 1989 and would later joke about the case, which had transformed Liverpool Crown Court into a sell-out theatre, with fellow comics Eric Sykes and Roy Hudd called as character witnesses.
One of Ken Dodd's favourite books was Sigmund Freud's 1905 treatise Wit and Its Relation to the Unconscious. His single "Tears" was the third highest-selling song of the 1960s and his signature tune Happiness left an imprint on a million heart.
