Australia won the first test by 118 runs in Durban and can end South Africa´s hopes of a series victory with another win in Port Elizabeth in the four-match series.

After a hard week for both sides that saw David Warner and Nathan Lyon from Australia, and South Africa´s Quinton de Kock, fined by the International Cricket Council following the tempestuous first test in Durban, both captains expressed their relief that focus was turned back to the cricket.

"If someone's treading close to the line as a teammate, you might have to pull them aside and say, "you're going a bit close there, ease up and pull back", Finch said.

Nathan Lyon said he hadn't spoken to Smith.

Rabada was banned for one Test during a series in England previous year after accumulating a total of four demerit points when he was penalised with one point after a send-off of Ben Stokes. Each demerit point stays on a player's record for a period of 24 months, staying active even after the four-point threshold is broken.

"I think a lot of other teams - and South Africa are one of those sides - dish out a bit, and are then the first to cry poor at the match officials or their team management. Australia have not played him before ... watch out for him", du Plessis said. He trapped Smith with a ball speared in to the batsman's pads, then in his next over gained a second leg before wicket, dismissing Shaun Marsh, before having Mitchell Marsh caught behind off an inside edge.

After tea, Rabada finished off his over with the wicket of Pat Cummins first ball - caught behind - but missed his hat-trick as he dished up a full toss to Mitchell Starc, who comfortably negotiated the delivery. He didn't manage that but 11 balls later he bowled Mitchell Starc.

A sharp turn for the flu season
And this season has been a good reminder that it's worth making the effort to get a flu shot at the beginning of each fall. A woman in her 60s, with underlying medical conditions, also died as a result of complications related to the flu.

It was a day of contrasts.

Australia spin bowler Nathan Lyon was fined for bringing the game into disrepute after celebrating a wicket in the first test in Durban by intentionally dropping the ball on South Africa batsman AB de Villiers.

The second Test will be broadcast live in Australia on Fox Sports More, while SEN's live radio stream can be heard on cricket.com.au and the Cricket Network. He scored his runs off 100 balls with nine fours.

Smith and Shaun Marsh steadied the innings with a patient fourth wicket stand of 44 before Rabada started his devastation.

Nigidi picked up the final two wickets but not before the tourists added 61 as Paine batted superbly with the tail to finish with 36 as the last man out. Tim has given us a sniff and the opportunity to bowl well.

On the stroke of lunch Bancroft fell, edging behind a sumptuous outswinger from Philander that any fast bowler in the world would have been proud of, and the teams walked off with score at 1-98.
