Alfa Romeo NRING special Nurburgring editions revealed
Alfa Romeo has announced it will build a special edition Giulia QV and Stelvio Quadrifoglio, called the "NRING" editions.
Each will feature individually-numbered badges, and a "Circuito Grey" livery, exclusive to the NRING models.
Carbon-ceramic brakes are the most important addition to the NRING models from a performance standpoint, as well as the use of carbon fibre for dashboard inserts, steering wheel inserts, mirror caps, side skirt inserts, and the shell of the Sparco racing seats. The Giulia also premieres a new bare carbon roof while the floor mats have a red logo developed by Mopar. The same design treatment is done to the Alfa Romeo Giulia Super as well. And about a year later, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio allegedly beat out the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S to become the quickest SUV around the track with a time of 7:51.7.
The NRING edition of the sedan and the SUV will be limited to just 108 units, one for each year of the history of Alfa Romeo.
Inside, the 4C Competizione welcomes its passengers with sports seats upholstered in leather and microfiber seats with red stitching, steering wheel wrapped in the same materials, a "Competizione" plaque on the dashboard, and a numbered badge on the central tunnel. This model also receives the 8.8-inch screen with navigation as well as Harman Kardon sound system, tinted windows, and active cruise control. There are red brake callipers and 19-inch wheels as well. While the Veloce Ti comes with a 280-hp turbocharged four-cylinder, the Super on display receives the supercharged 200-hp four-cylinder not offered in the U.S.
Also joining the Geneva stage will be the 4C "Competizione" and "Italia" special series for the coupe and spider respectively.
The 4C Spider Italia is obviously a tribute to the country that birthed it, borrowing Misano Blue paint from the flag and matching it to yellow brake calipers. Other features include an Alpine Hi-Fi system, Italia dashboard plaque, and Spider Italia sticker on the side of the vehicle. New variants of the Giulia, Stelvio and 4C will be gracing the stands, although it's not clear yet which will be coming to the UK.
