Of particular note is the fact that loot boxes will no longer be sold and Star Cards will be earned in-game only.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is being ripped up and reassembled following an enormous backlash at the backend of past year.

It had been all quiet on the loot box front, that is until EA posted an update today outlining the new, tweaked progression system. There are also some additional changes coming to the cosmetics in the game, but we'll get to that in a bit. When enough experience is gained, players can unlock a Skill Point to upgrade or unlock a Star Card. Instead, the game will feature a more traditional approach to character levelling, in which players earn experience points through playing which can be spent on increasing the level of a unit and subsequently receiving a Star Card in the process.

You'll keep everything you've already earned and unlocked. What you have earned will still be available to use with this update regardless of how much or little progress you have already made.

Starting from March 21st, Star Wars Battlefront II will sport a linear progression system, with Star Cards and other items impacting gameplay only being obtainable by playing. The loot boxes in the game will no longer feature Star Cards and the crates can not be purchased.

Vote meddling: US slams sanctions on Russia

IPhone SE 2 Leaked Video Looks Too Good to Be True

Electric Picnic 2018 | Kendrick Lamar, NERD, Massive Attack & more announced
The organiser of the Electric Picnic festival has put the success of the annual event down to involving the local community. 'All tickets for Electric Picnic 2018 are now sold out, ' reads a statement on the EP website.

You will be able to keep everything you've already unlocked though, so this isn't resetting anything. Crates will instead be earned as daily login bonuses, milestone rewards, and by completing challenges.

Crates will only contain cosmetic items, like emotes and victory poses, and nothing that affects gameplay - and you will not be able to buy them.

In addition, EA plans to roll out an April update that will allow you to get appearances with crystals and in-game credits. If you've ever dreamed of being a part of the Resistance as a Rodian, your chance is right around the corner.

Along with the progression changes, in the coming months players can expect more balancing, and new modes. "Some of these, like the recently released limited-time Jetpack Cargo, are radically different than anything you've experienced in the game before, and we're excited to surprise you with what we have planned".
