An ex-school bus driver on Thursday was found guilty of six counts of criminally negligent assault in a 2016 crash that killed six elementary school children in the southern USA state Tennessee.
Johnthony Walker, 25, was driving a school bus when it crashed on Talley Road in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on November 21, 2016.
Prosecutor Crystle Carrion said Tuesday in court that Walker was driving 50 miles per hour (80 kph) on the narrow road when the bus ran off the pavement, hit a pole and flipped into a tree.
Sentencing is scheduled for April 24.
Woodmore Elementary School bus driver Johnthony Walker has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of vehicular homicide, reckless endangerment and reckless driving, according to Chattanooga Police Chief Fred Fletcher.

Prosecutors said during a pre-trial hearing previous year that Walker received a call at 3.17pm that lasted nearly four minutes. The call lasted three minutes and 50 seconds, records show.
"I chose to veer out of the way", Johnthony Walker said. She said she thinks the phone just never hung up.
When asked by his lawyer if he was using his phone at the time of the crash, Walker responded, "No". Nixon testified she called Walker the day of the crash. Nixon said the conversation was brief. I said, 'Are you driving?' He said yes. As a result, Walker testified, he veered to the right away from the white bus and then overcorrected to the left. Dunn said during Nixon's cross-examination that she didn't know Walker was involved in the crash until much later.
Walker took the stand Wednesday and said he wasn't on his cellphone when the bus crashed.
He says though that he tried to help children get off the bus.
