Google Lens isn't a standalone app, it's built into the Google Photos experience, although it'd be great to see it become a standalone app - maybe Apple should have a similar competitor in place soon. Once it's on your device, open the app, select an image, and press the newly added Lens icon (it looks like the Instagram logo).
Google Lens has now debuted on iOS via Google Photos. Snap Ed Sheeran in the street, for example, and you get links to his YouTube and Facebook pages, and so on.
